These guidelines explain what you can and can't post on DeshiAds, and how we expect members to treat each other. They apply to every ad, photo, and message on the platform, alongside our Terms of Service.
What you can post
Anything genuinely useful to the Bangladeshi community in Belgium, within our categories:
- Rooms, seats, and flats for rent, or housing wanted.
- Items for sale or wanted — furniture, electronics, clothing, and more.
- Jobs offered or wanted, freelance and services.
- Vehicles for sale or rideshare offers.
- Home-cooked food and catering.
- Community events, classes, and religious or cultural gatherings.
- Lost & found, and free items.
- Immigration, legal, and other professional services you're qualified to offer.
Posting quality
- Use real photos of the actual item, room, or service — not stock photos or images copied from elsewhere.
- Set an honest, current price. Mark it “negotiable” if it is, rather than posting a placeholder price.
- Pick the right category and city so people can actually find your ad.
- Post an item or role once. Don't create duplicate ads for the same listing to get more visibility — use VIP placement instead.
- Keep listings up to date — mark or delete an ad once it's sold, rented, or filled.
What's not allowed
The following are never allowed, and will be removed on sight — repeated or serious violations can lead to account suspension:
- Illegal goods or services — weapons, drugs, stolen property, counterfeit goods, or anything else illegal under Belgian or EU law.
- Scams and dishonest listings — fake items, misleading prices, phishing links, or advance-fee requests.
- Adult content or escort/sexual services.
- Hate speech, harassment, threats, or discrimination based on religion, ethnicity, gender, or any other protected characteristic.
- Animal sales that violate animal-welfare law, or cruelty of any kind.
- Multi-level marketing, pyramid schemes, or “get rich quick” offers.
- Spam, bulk/automated posting, or content unrelated to the Bangladeshi community in Belgium.
- Sharing another person's private information without their consent.
Messaging other members
Be respectful and honest in messages, just as you would in person. Don't harass, spam, or pressure other members. Never send money before you've verified an item or met the seller in person, and be cautious of anyone who asks you to move the conversation off-platform immediately or pay in advance.
Staying safe
- Meet in a public place for the first exchange, and bring someone with you if possible.
- Inspect items in person before paying — never pay a deposit sight unseen.
- Use official channels for anything involving your visa, residence, or legal status.
- Trust your instincts. If an offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
How we moderate
New ads are reviewed before they go live. We also act on reports from other members — use the “Report” button on any ad. Violating these guidelines can result in a rejected or removed ad, a warning, or account suspension, depending on severity. See our Terms of Service for the full policy.
